1. The following staff/child ratio must be on duty to ensure the health and safety of all the children:
Toddlers: 1 staff to 5 toddlers with the maximum of 12 toddlers
Preschoolers: 1 staff to 7 preschoolers with the maximum of 18 to 20 preschoolers
**CAC's ratio is 1 to 4

2.  The director will be responsible for the program’s daily functioning including

appropriate supervision and educational program.

When  the director is away from the premises, there will be a Head of Group assigned to

Ensure the health and safety of all children.

3.  Only the director, head of group or assistant to the head of group can supervise

children independently except in an emergency.

4.  Qualified substitutes will be employed on a temporary basis when staff are absent to

Ensure appropriate ratios.

5.  Children will not be left alone with staff who have not cleared the SCR clearance or

fingerprinting process. 

6.  Children may move from one age group to another based on guidance from the day

care regulations and staff and parent input. 

7.  Children shall not be released to other than the parent/s or guardian/s unless the parent/s have the adult listed on the Emergency Contact Card and the parent/s has stated verbally or in writing that someone other than the parent/s will be picking the child up on the particular day.

8.  Unless there is documentation of custodial parent via Family Court,   both parents have the right to pick up the child from day care. 

9.  Visitors will have limited interaction with the children in the day care unless their visit pertains to the education of a specific child or the visitor is there to provide group activities for the children.
